Parque Natural da Serra da Estrela
The Serra da Estrela Natural Park is the largest protected area in Portugal and is located in the central mountain range, on a high plateau sloping to the northeast, deeply indented by the valleys of the rivers and streams that originate here, such as the Mondego and the Zêzere.
Historic Villages Tourism
A medieval village from the 12th century, Linhares da Beira has a unique architectural and artistic diversity, the result of the legacy of several eras. In 1169, it received its first charter, granted by D. Afonso Henriques. But it was only later, during the reign of King Dinis, that its imposing castle was built, a landmark of the town and its main calling card today. Wandering through the streets of this museum village is like taking a trip into the past, into its history, and feeling the breeze from the Mondego Valley caress our faces.
